Microsoft Unveils AI-Powered Productivity Tool – Microsoft 365 Copilot

Microsoft has unveiled a new productivity tool, Microsoft 365 Copilot, which leverages next-generation AI to transform the way we work. Copilot combines large language models with the Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 apps to turn users’ words into a powerful productivity tool. Copilot is designed to reduce the time spent on mundane tasks, freeing up time for creative and innovative work.

The new tool is integrated into Microsoft 365 in two ways, embedding itself in apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams to enhance productivity and uplevel skills. Additionally, Microsoft 365 Copilot includes Business Chat, an entirely new experience that combines natural language prompts with the LLM, Microsoft 365 apps, and data from a user’s calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and contacts to provide users with unparalleled levels of functionality.

Users can give natural language prompts to Business Chat to generate a status update based on previous meetings, emails, and chat threads. Copilot provides users with a first draft to edit and iterate on in Word, allowing users to jump-start the creative process and never start with a blank slate again. Copilot in Excel analyzes trends and creates data visualizations in seconds, while Copilot in PowerPoint enables users to create beautiful presentations with a simple prompt. By automating repetitive tasks, creating chatbots, and going from idea to working app in minutes, Copilot in Power Platform enables anyone to uplevel their skills and be more productive.
